I say to those who do not agree with me, that disagreement does not mean I do not love them, for love is humane and enriches our humanity, and opens up the doorway for us to understand each other.. For the doorway to the intellect is the heart. So if we open up our hearts to each other, we have a greater chance of opening up further doorways of our intellect.
This is why I say to those who’s views differentiate from mine, try not to be spiteful, for this spite will kill your humanity. I do not want this to happen. Try to engage in dialogue, as this sorts out many of our problems. Try to read, because the problem with many of those who disagree with me, or have thrown verbal stones at me, do not read but act on hearsay. I say to them what Imam Ali (As): ‘Between truth and falsehood there are four fingers, truth is to say that you witnessed, and falsehood is to say that you heard.’
I open my entire mind to you, so come and let us unite in one mind. And I open my heart to you, so come to a heart that beats in another’s beating heart. As for those who do agree with me, I say to them, come so that we can enrich our lives further, so we may open up to Allah further, in order to open up to humanity further.Sayed Muhammad Hussein Fadlallah (via sange-saboor)
Narrated by Abu Huraira:
Prophet Muhammad PBUH kissed Al-Hasan bin Ali while Al-Aqra’ bin Habis At-Tamim was sitting beside him. Al-Aqra said, “I have ten children and I have never kissed anyone of them,” Prophet Muhammad PBUH cast a look at him and said, “Whoever is not merciful to others will not be treated mercifully.” (Bukhari - book 8, volume 73, hadith 26)
